Vintage Fairies and a bit of Yeats

Princess Edane... heard a voice singing on a May Eve like this, and followed half awake and half asleep, until she came into the Land of Faery, where nobody gets old and godly and grave, where nobody gets old and crafty and wise, where nobody gets old and bitter of tongue.  ~William Butler Yeats, "The Land of Heart's Desire," 1894

These are just wonderful and enchanting vintage fairy pictures that I hope you will enjoy.
May you days be filled with the magic and laughter of the Fae Folk ... Always !

Look Within To Find Yourself

So often we imagine that “there” is more full of gold than “here.”  It is the same with love and dreams and the work of our lives.  We see the light everywhere but where we are, and chase after what we think we lack, only to find, humbly, it was with us all along.  ~The Book Of Awakening  The Book of Awakening: Having the Life You Want by Being Present to the Life You Have

The Book of Awakening: Having the Life You Want by Being Present to the Life You Have

My precious daughter gave me this book last YuleTide ... I'm enjoying it so much.  She always gives thoughtful gifts and since she is not able to purchase much at all, giving these things are a great sacrifice for her.  I have to say, being so "poor" has actually made gift giving more meaningful.

May the Divine Light be with you all of your days and may they be good.

Peace and Love, Always

Wrap Bracelets - Hand Crafted And Stunning

Good Day and greetings to all.  I am highlighting two more of my daughter's hand crafted bracelets which I plan to do from time to time.  Just trying to give her shop a boost and help her become somewhat self-sufficient.  I have to say all of her bracelets are just beautiful even though I might be just a tad partial.

The first one is called "Flapper" and the second "Hepburn.  As I've said before they do look so much better in person ... but they still look stunning in these pictures.

It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.
~William Shakespeare

Wonderful quote ... and my understanding of this is that we can lead the life we are meant to live ... and that we are to help each other on that journey ... otherwise life is dark and  meaningless;  filled with a yearning that cannot be satisfied with all the treasurers of the world.  Only by fostering community, compassion and generosity of Spirit among humankind and all life can we find meaning and peace.

International Women's Day

International Women’s Day originally commemorated the working rights protest led by female garment workers.  Many seem to forget the holiday’s ties to the working rights movement in the United States and the Socialist Party.

The origins of the holiday can be traced back to March 8, 1857, when garment workers in New York City staged a protest against inhumane working conditions and low wages, according to the United Nations.  The police attacked the protesters and dispersed them, but the movement continued and led to the creation of the first women’s labor union.

You can find more information on the history and how it's celebrated around the world here http://www.csmonitor.com/Innovation/Tech-Culture/2013/0308/What-is-International-Women-s-Day

Happiness and Bright Days to all.
