illusions - Never, Never Give Up

I've been in the tunnel lately, but I woke up this morning and wasn't afraid and then I found this utube and thank  you Blessed Divine Mother so much for leading me to this.  It has lifted my spirits and moved me along that tunnel and soon I will be in the light.

This is from my Louise Hay, "I Can Do It" cards.  I leave these cards and others by my bedside to read just before popping off to sleep.  For the most part, they help me sleep well.  And I try to ask my Guardian Angels to protect and guide me through the night and a little "visit" would be nice.  I must admit that lately I forget to do these things and I'll just have to remember to practice these things tonight.  

Today is a difficult day for me ... sometimes the positive thinking and affirmations and acting "as if" is really, really, hard to do ... and I wonder if I'm kidding myself.  I try to stick it through these dark feelings and get to the other side where there is some semblance of light and hope ... and it usually works ... just some days it takes a bit longer.  

I hope that this marvelous quote by one of my favorite beings, Thoreau, and this affirmation card brings some happiness and hope to you today and each and every day.

Ravishing Mermaid Altered Assemblage Art

Greeting all who love the magic that is within and all around us.  I'm highlighting one of my ooak, altered art, assemblage, mixed media Mermaid pieces.  I especially love how her "crown" came out.

 “The oldest form of the mermaid in mermaid mythology is the Goddess Atargatis from Syria. A famous statue of Atargatis shows her as a woman from the waist up and a fish from there down. All sea Goddesses inherit the sea's qualities. Just as the sea could be gentle and nurturing or violent and deadly, so could they. These are the same contradictory qualities we see in mermaids to this day: beautiful, cruel, tender, loving, destroying, etc. In a larger sense this is man's view of nature. The mermaid, a fantastic creature, is nature herself.”

Birdsong - PBS Masterpiece 2 part series and Book

I watched this two part PBS Masterpiece series and was enthralled ... it was so beautifully done and the acting was fabulous ... bringing WWI to my eyes, it brought me to tears and what a love story.  And, I have to say, I'm not much for that anymore because of my life experiences ... but this brought back hope for romantic love, that perhaps it might just still exist in the world.  I have linked the picture to the PBS page for you to read more about this.  LOVED THIS SO MUCH !

 

I will most likely try to get this from our local library, but you can purchase this from Amazon if you care to.  I like to support our libraries and it doesn't cost anything.  Sometimes it's nice to acquire a book for your own personal library.
