COURAGE - What Does It Mean ??? And my Fairy Of Courage Embellished Art Print

“Any fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent.  It takes a touch of genius-and a lot of courage-to move in the opposite direction.”  ~Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”  Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

“The secret of happiness is freedom.  The secret of freedom is courage.”  ~Thucydides (Ancient Greek historian and author, 460-404bc)

“You will never do anything in this world without courage.  It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor.”  ~Aristotle (Ancient Greek Philosopher, Scientist and Physician, (384 BC -322 BC)

This is my very favorite - it speaks to my Heart and Soul.  “God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right even though I think it is hopeless.”  ~Chester W. Nimitz

Here is my newest listing at my Etsy Shop - a one of a kind, matted, embellished Fairy Of Courage Art Print.  I hope she gives you a bit of courage .... we can all use more of it from time to time.

Courage ... what does it mean?  I think it may mean different things to different people and different things at different times.  Speaking for myself, real courage is doing what is "right and good" even though it may be against the majority of the people.  We have to be really honest with ourselves and search inside for the answers of what is right and true.  What is good for all not just selfishly good for ourselves.  It's really hard to fight for somethings that may very well mean a little less for yourself and perhaps also putting oneself into peril.  I think it takes tremendous courage to be non-violent especially amongst such violent and hate-filled people.  It's scary to be around those folks....but, alas, we can't get away from it ... and it's in all of us ... we must be vigilant to fight the dark energies within and without ourselves.  Anyway, that's what I've learned and try to do each and every day.  In my younger years I thought I was such a good person, but I didn't think things through ... not really ... in these past years I've had an awakening, a remembering .... it's actually more painful, but I'm coming into my own .... finally.  But, I still seek courage and the ways to move on in Goodness and Light.

As Always, Wishing You All The Very Best Life Has To Offer, True Friendship, Happiness, Abundance, Kindness, Compassion, Beauty, and LOVE !!

Great post! Your words are touching and true! And I also agree that courage is having the ability to "change." Something I personally have railed against out of complete fear most of my life, but I am getting better.

And I love the new Fairy of Courage print!!

Blessings always,

Kim

Thanks Kim for your comments. Wow, I to fight fear to get through things (sometimes just the day). It's comforting to know others do know what it's like.

Stacy, ditto to you. The first step is knowing that your are fearful, then you can work through it or at least try.

Love and Light Dear Ones !

Your post is definitely though provoking. I don't think of myself as being a courageous person, but it is definitely something I would like to work on. Thanks for giving me something to mull on as I try to sort through my books :).

I love the sweet little touch of the flowers in her hair on your fairy of courage.
