Mermaid Assemblage Alterted Art Piece

The Sea Maid
from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream
To where I watch on the yellow sands,
and they pluck sweet music with sea-cold hands.
They bring me coral and amber clear.
But when the stars in heaven appear,
their music ceases, they glide away.
They swim for their grottoes across the bay.
Then listen only to my shrill tune,
the surfy tide, and the wondering moon.

Today, I would like to highlight a Mermaid Assemblage Altered Art piece that I recently listed at my Etsy shop.  As with most of my altered art pieces, I give them a "vintage/Victorian" feel but at the same time it is contemporary.  Please feel free to visit a while there.

I bow to the Divine within you.  I honor the place within you where the whole Universe dwells.

Fairy Poem "Rushen Glen" and HOPE Fairy art print and quotes

Good Day To All Who Gather in Kindness and Good Intentions! Below is a fabulous poem from Wonder Tales From Fairy Isles. This enchanting book has just come to my attention and I'm on the lookout for a copy of my own. Hard to do since it's out of print ... but the Fae Folk will send a copy my way soon, I just know it. I have to say the older books have a special something ... at least to me they do. So, I hope you enjoy this and be on the lookout for more from this wonderful book.

Rushen Glen
The pale moon wanes,
The morn is cold,

Each Fairy, Elf and Fay
Snug in a flower

Enwraps herself
To wait the broad bright day.

From our flow`ry beds

We rise again

And bathe in the pearly dew`
Then take the air
With a butterfly pair
Linked to a petal blue.
The evening comes,

Adown the Streams,

We sail to the Rushen Glen

On a lily leaf—

And meet once more
In song and dance again.
-Frances Jenkins Olcott, "Wonder Tales from Fairy Isles", 1929

I have include a picture of my HOPE Fairy. She brings HOPE to our world in which we are all in need of I expect. Below are so absolutely fabulous quotes on HOPE. Enjoy all the good energies.

“Dum spiro, spero (Latin), "While I breath, I hope"” ~Philemon Latin Proverb

“There is no despair so absolute as that which comes with the first moments of our first great sorrow, when we have not yet known what it is to have suffered and be healed, to have despaired and have recovered hope.” ~George Eliot

“Hope is the dream of a soul awake.” ~French Proverb

Fairy Poem, HOPE quotes and Comfort Fairy

Greetings and Good Intentions To All ! Below is another poem from Mistress Meg, with permission of course. I'll be sure to link to her when she does get a blog. I like her poems, they make me twinkle!

IT’S ME AGAIN !!!
Each day I look and live in hope

Some fairies there?..........Oh nope.

Another day - and no-one here,

A wilting fairy, me, I fear.

And so I slowly fade away,

Perhaps one will come.....another day.

Until then, I’ll bid adieu,

With glittery wishes - from me to you.

~Mistress Meg~

HOPE – that sure is something we all need….how can we live without it? Here are some quotes on hope to give you a bit more if you need it.

“Hope, like the gleaming taper's light, adorns and cheers our way; and still, as darker grows the night, emits a brighter ray.” Oliver Goldsmith (1730-1774)

“Hope is the thing with feathers, which perches in the soul, and sings the tune without words, and never stops at all.” ~Emily Dickinson

“Never let go of hope. One day you will see that it all has finally come together. What you have always wished for has finally come to be. You will look back and laugh at what has passed and you will ask yourself... 'How did I get through all of that?

I have included my COMFORT Fairy ... still have to create HOPE Fairy in the future ... may you have comfort all of your days, and give comfort and kindness to all that you meet.

Such A Pretty Poem from a talented young lady !

Greetings friends of the Fae and also those who love art. Above is one of my fairy girls, she holds the gift of GIGGLES. So, my wish today for you is to have lots to giggle about!

I discovered this delightful poem at the Kirks' folly forum and was permitted to place it in my blog. Enjoy!

A Fairy Tribute
Every day at sunrise
Fairies young and old
Wake up and start their day.
Not one worry occurs
While work is done
Just joy and happiness.
No matter what, they smile
And know everything is alright
As long as they’re alright.
So smile, let your eyes gleam
You will be okay.
Fairies are hard at work
To make your sunrise
The start of a better day.
